Can you hear me now?

Audio, audio, audio!

* The latest episode of StarShipSofa includes the second part of my three-part "Looking Back on Genre History" article on the uneasy history between Star Trek and Native America. The same episode also includes my narration of Mercurio D. Rivera's haunting science fiction story "Tethered." You can find the episode here. If you listen, I hope you enjoy!

* The latest episode of MuggleNet Academia is the podcast's first-year anniversary extravaganza, and I'm one of the special guests. (My work on the intersection of J.K. Rowling's and J.R.R. Tolkien's writing was the focus of a past episode.) This is an action-packed celebratory show, and you can find it here. If you listen, I hope you enjoy!

It's Wednesday. Here, have a virtual Captain Picard Facepalm! cookie:

Isn't it brilliant! I want one. Or two, so I could eat one and leave the other the work of art that it is. ;)

In Wacky Nazi news, Kenneth Hite recently announced on his blog that June will see the release of The Nazi Occult. The material ranges from stuff from genuine historians to occult scholars who do bother with some actual research to utter nutcases who are just making up stuff. From what he says, there's not going to be any in-text markers as to which is which, so you'd be on your own with that. One aspect that may interest you is that he slips in some Lovecraft references (The Temple being one obvious source, but others as well).

Oooh, interesting indeed! Thank you for the heads up! I love the mix of historians/scholars/nutcases without a guide to tell one from another. That's a game all its own, LOL! Thanks for the heads up!

The cookie goes on the list of essential things I never realized the world was missing along with Two Gentlemen of Lebowski.

Tethered
You did a brilliant job with the narration of "Tethered"! Your crystal-clear voice and emotive tone really did the story justice. Thanks so much, Amy!

Re: Tethered
You've absolutely made my weekend! I appreciate your kind words. Thank you so much for writing such an exceptional story and allowing StarShipSofa to share it on the podcast. It was a joy to read. I'm delighted that you like my narration!
