Happy Birthday, H.P. Lovecraft!

Happy birthday to H.P. Lovecraft (20 August, 1890 – 15 March, 1937)!

Lovecraft

Take my virtual walking tour of Lovecraft's Providence.

"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."

It's my Birthday, too. Perhaps that explains why I write Horror...

He, only with Poe, led me by the hand into horror. I couldn't have had a better introduction. So, yes, Happy Birthday, Mr. Lovecraft!

Hey stranger! I just missed you! I just returned from London earlier this week! Augh!!!! I hope you're having a fantastic time.

My hope is to be over this jetlag by Twelve's debut this weekend, LOL. Other than that, my husband and I plan to curl up, dine in, and ENJOY! A new Doctor is always something to celebrate!

How about you?

I should have read further down to see that you had already left, rats! Oh well.

As for me, I made the attempt to see the season opener at the Odeon Cinema at Leicester Square, but alas! The tickets were sold out. Not to worry, I have BBC 1 on my telly in my hotel room so I am set!

Lovecraft on tv?
Many folks seem to think that our choices in episodic story viewing (tv) is the best it's ever been - so why hasn't anyone yet to make a great, compelling series based on Lovecraft?

Just imagine. The first episode would start at Innsmouth - introducing the audience, like the Narrator, to the weirdness of the town and its inhabitants. Subsequent episodes could slowly work outwards into the broader Lovecraft universe from there.

Come on! There's gotta be someone out there interested in such a project?

Oh, you're so right. I absolutely love this idea! I hope The Powers That Be are listening. I'd watch it, that's for certain!
