Speaking of interviews, the staff of TheOneRing.net asked me to comment about the current situation between New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson regarding a possible new film adaptation of The Hobbit, and my response has just been posted on the site. For additional information on this controversy, see "The BIG News" sidebar on the right of TORn's main page for some great links. Just FYI!

The King beneath the mountains, the King of carven stone,
The lord of silver fountains shall come into his own!

His crown shall be upholden, his harp shall be restrung,
His halls shall echo golden to songs of yore re-sung.

The woods shall wave on mountains and grass beneath the sun:
His wealth shall flow in fountains and the rivers golden run.

The streams shall run in gladness, the lakes shall shine and burn,
All sorrow fail and sadness at the Mountain-king's return!

- from The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien

As always...
You are incredibly articulate and clear in your comments. I enjoyed reading what you had to say about the possibility of a different director. Kudos to you for being honest in your opinions. It is always a pleasure to read your comments, and TORN is wise to ask your opinion...

Re: As always...
What lovely things to say! You've made my morning. I really appreciate your kindness.

I wanted to go on and on with my comments on the issue (on the other hand, and on still yet another hand...), but I finally just shut myself up. LOL!

Ah, thanks for the links! I totally missed the hobbit discussion, so it was good to get some information :)

You're most welcome! I'm glad it was of interest.

Well said! And yet my sense of symmetry will be all off if Jackson doesn't do it. I would love to see any number of other creative teams take on the challenge of interpreting Tolkien to film, but I would always feel like something had been left unfinished if we couldn't see the Hobbit as Peter Jackson and co. would interpret it.

LOL - I love that icon! Thanks for your kind words, and for reading my comments. I understand why you'd want to have the "complete package" by Jackson and company, which makes me doubly sad that we've probably missed the opportunity to see Sir Ian Holm revise his role for Jackson, even if it turned out he would direct the film. :(
