"all of these anniversaries"

Happy early birthday wishes to three great people, parisntripfan, toddlyles, and pktheater. I hope all of you have terrific birthdays and fantastic years to come!

A couple of quick notes:

* I previously posted about discovering Bookins, the free website for trading used books. At the risk of sounding like an advertisement, I just wanted to say that I've started using the site (I've sent out two books and received two), and it really works quite well. The site is also useful for finding books even if you have nothing to trade. Unfortunately, its services are only available in the United States right now, but I do recommend it. See the website for additional information, including news articles about and endorsements of the service from various national publications.

* I've committed to my first science fiction convention appearance of 2008: ConCarolinas (May 30-June 1, 2008, in Charlotte, NC, USA). I will be participating in the literary track programming. I hope some of you who are in the area will be attending. I'd love to see you!

"In June, as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No man can heed all of these anniversaries; no man can ignore all of them."
