"Nothing happens by accident."

Happy birthday to the fabulous green_key! I hope you have a wonderful day and a magnificent year to come!

In other news...

* The preliminary ballot has been released for the Bram Stoker Awards. Congratulations to jasonbsizemore and everyone at Apex Publications for Gratia Placenti (Superior Achievement in an Anthology), and to louise_bohmer and everyone at Lachesis Publishing for I Will Rise by Michael Calvillo (Superior Achievement in a First Novel). Way to go! Read the complete list here.

* LibriVox has just unveiled its "Horror Story Collection 3," which includes ten readings of different horror stories for free download. Five of the ten stories are by H.P. Lovecraft (yay!), and the others are by the likes of H.G. Wells and Ambrose Bierce. What's not to love? Read more and download the stories here.

* SilkSoundBooks has released more unabridged readings of classic books by great actors, each for £7.95 (roughly $15.71). Some of the new titles include Frankenstein read by Derek Jacobi (yay!) and Madame Bovary read by Julie Christie. Visit the website to learn more.

* Harry Potter fans, did you know you can buy your Valentine a red hot cauldron of love this holiday at Alivan's? LOL! (It's actually a good deal.)

Thanks for the audio link! I really like that short story by Wells - I look forward to hearing it read out loud when I get home tonight and seeing if it has the same (or more) impact hearing it (instead of reading.)

Oh, thank you so much! That makes my day. :) I was thrilled when I saw Sir Derek was reading Frankenstein. A brilliant reader for a brilliant book! Of course, now they need to do Dracula, and Phantom of the Opera... *wink*
