"not afraid of anything"

Yesterday's Can't Stop the Serenity charity event hosted by the Charlotte Browncoats was a definite success. (Other CSTS events are being held around the world.) The music concerts were wonderful, as was the raffle (you can see pictures of the handmade character dolls that were raffled here and here), and this year a screening of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was added to Serenity, which was great fun. Most importantly, money was raised for a worthy cause.

There were Jayne hats aplenty: on dolls, on bears, on human heads, and, as you can see, as costumes.

* Star Trek fans should check out the latest NASA mission poster. (Thanks to ithildyn.)

* from io9: "Science Fiction Books That Launched Their Own Genres." The list begs for disagreement and debate, which makes it all the more fun.
