FYI, duncatra has compiled a nifty guide to Star Wars on LiveJournal, FYI. If you have suggestions for additions, you can note them here.
Also, it seems now is the time for an explosion of books about Star Wars (as opposed to the official books set in the Star Wars universe). I thought Will Brooker's Using the Force: Creativity, Community and Star Wars Fans (Updated Edition) was quite interesting and generally well done. I'd definitely recommend it. I also know of The Tao of Star Wars (which I read and enjoyed, though it's very light) and The Dharma of Star Wars (which I've heard better things about, and I'm looking forward to reading). These are a drop in the proverbial bucket as far as nonfiction books about the series go, however. Does anyone have any recommendations to share?
And last, a quote for the day, from a series long ago and far away (with apologies to John Williams):
Nothin' but Star Wars
Gimme those Star Wars,
Don't let them end.
Aw, Star Wars,
If they should bar wars
Please let these Star Wars
And hey, how 'bout that nutty Star Wars bar?
Can you believe all the creatures in there?
And hey, Darth Vader in that black and evil mask.
Did he scare you as much as he scared me?
Star Wars, those near and far wars...
