Calling all Firefly fans - Assistance requested!

Greetings all! I am looking for a few quotes from Firefly fans to use in the forthcoming book chapter "Sexy Nerds: Illya Kuryakin, Mr. Spock, and the Image of the Cerebral Hero in Television Drama," which will appear in a volume on Intelligence in Popular Media due out in late 2006/early 2007. More information on this publication will be posted here when available. The questions below are not for statistical or demographic purposes: I'm just looking for a few anecdotal comments from the fan community to sprinkle in and add some flavor to my analysis.

Please feel free to respond only to those questions that interest you.

Please feel free to respond anonymously.

All comments will be screened, so only I will see the responses.

Many thanks!

Please be sure to answer this question: May I quote your comments? If so, by what name/handle/alias would you prefer to be quoted?

* Which character or characters would you consider to exhibit "nerd-like" traits in the Firefly series? Why?

* Which character or characters, if any, do you find most attractive or sexy in the Firefly series? Are any of these characters "nerds"? If so, what is it about them that makes them sexy? Are they attractive because of their nerdiness? In spite of it?

* Do you identify with the nerdiness of any of the Firefly characters? If so, how?

* Do you think the Firefly series focuses any more or less on "sexy nerd" characters than other series of the same era/genre? Why?

* Do you think the film Serenity will focus more or less attention on "sexy nerd" characters than the Firefly series? Why?

* Do you know of any Firefly fan organizations or communities that openly celebrate the nerdiness of any of the Firefly characters?

* Do you have any additional comments or insights you would like to share about the relationship between Firefly and the issue of sexy nerds on television?

I appreciate your time and assistance. Thank you.
