I'm baaack!

I'm baaaack!

I'm still a bit lagged, but looking forward to catching up with everything.

Until I have something coherent of my own to say, here are some general News Items:

* My dear friend Dr. Katy McDaniel, who was responsible for introducing me to the Harry Potter series in the beginning, and whose brilliant "The Elfin Mystique: Fantasy and Feminism in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter Series" appears in the Past Watchful Dragons collection I edited, is the scholar guest on the latest episode of MuggleNet Academia. She does a fantastic job. It's great listening for Potterphiles!

* The Eaton Journal of Archival Research in Science Fiction is now soliciting articles for its first issue, scheduled for publication April 10th, 2013, and for subsequent issues of the peer-reviewed, open-access, online journal hosted by the University of California at Riverside, affiliated with the UCR Library’s Eaton Collection of Science Fiction & Fantasy. Here is the Call for Papers.

* Speaking of Calls for Papers, don't forget that there's still time to submit a proposal to Joss in June: A Conference on the Works of Joss Whedon.

* Registration is now open at Mythgard Institute for my online Spring 2013 class "Science Fiction, Part II: From the New Wave to Tomorrow" and at Lenoir-Rhyne University for my hybrid Spring 2013 seminar "J.R.R. Tolkien: Hobbits, History, and Heroism."

The induction into the Great Graduates Hall of Fame was a terrific experience. I was so happy my family could join me. Here I am with my sister and my wonder-niece, Baby Kaitlyn.
