Snow, Utopia, and Forecasts

We're scheduled for our first snow of the season tonight. I look forward to snow more than I look forward to Christmas. Winter, please come and stay a while! Right now, it's rain, rain, rain, but it's a grey and cold rain, which I love, so I don't mind.

* My latest "Looking Back on Genre History" segment for StarShipSofa, which is the first of a two-part segment about Edward Bellamy's classic novel Looking Backward, 2000-1887, is now available. You can listen or download it here. An updated list of all of my podcast appearances (with links) is available here.

And here, for your amusement, is a charming video sent to me by my brilliant storm-chasing meteorologist sister, from our hometown:

I love snow too, I just don't like the snow on the roads. How are you doing? I know it has been awhile since I have been here.

I agree: I like snow on the grass, not as much on the roads! I'm doing well, thanks. It's great to see you here again! You've been missed!
