It is undoubtedly a trap!

Thanks to everyone who took part in my Peter Cushing poll! The poll is still open, in case anyone else would like to participate.

Here, have a new The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer!

The movie looks like it is going to be very exciting, though I have a hard time imagining what the third movie will be about if the second is about the killing of Smaug.

I think the current word is that third film is supposed to be the Battle of Five Armies. We'll see how it goes!

Random Elf chicks aside, this instalment looks like it'll be as brilliant as the last. I'm really liking the way they're fleshing out the story instead of chopping it to bits, the way most movies do with books.

So true! And so much of the added/integrated material in this last one was verbatim out of the appendices - that made me a happy camper.

"Random elf chicks aside"... *cackles* Yes. This.

A lot to love (Bilbo and all of the iconic scenes) ... and a little to not love very much (Legolas and Tauriel, whom I hope only have about 5 minutes of actual screen time in the film).

LOL! It's definitely Jackson's interpretation, to be sure. Thus far I have appreciated it as such, but I'll admit I'm apprehensive about the Tauriel and Legolas show. Ack! \o/
