The Imperishable Flame Award

Wow! I don't know what to say. I just discovered a moment ago that I am a finalist for the First Annual Northeast Tolkien Society's Imperishable Flame Award for Tolkien/Inklings Scholarship in 2005 (for directing the Past Watchful Dragons International Conference last November, giving Tolkien-related talks at various conferences and conventions, and appearing on radio programs dealing with Tolkien-related subjects).

I am thrilled to see that Glass Hammer, who performed their remarkable "Inconsolable Secret" concert as part of the Past Watchful Dragons event, is a finalist for the Imperishable Flame Award for Tolkien-Inspired Creation in 2005.

To see the list of finalists and vote online, go to the Heren Istarion website here.

Many thanks to those who nominated me, whoever you are! :) It is a tremendous honor to be listed among such distinguished names. And thanks to all of you for your friendship, encouragement, and kindness.
