First, things to read:
* an excellent "Mega-Meta-Review" of the Hugo Nominees for 2006

* Revolution Science Fiction has posted its 2006 Sci-Fi TV Previews:
- Sci-Fi Actors Not Yet Jobless Again
- Watery Grave (Pre-Cancellations)
- The Normals Strike Back

Second, things to buy:
* Nox Arcana's new CD Carnival of Lost Souls is now available
* the new DVD version of Beyond the Wall of Sleep is available for preordering (thanks to vonjunzt for the reminder)

Last, tremendous thanks to those of you who are supporting me in the Imperishable Flame Awards for Tolkien/Inklings Scholarship in 2005. Your ongoing kindness continues to be a source of tremendous awe and encouragement for me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

"The world was full of locked doors, and he had to get his hand on every key."

Many thanks for the very useful links! I'll be following up on many of the reviews while updating the SF section of our library. (Now off to run some searches on Tibetan myth, legend and history...)

It is the latest in a series, more mystery perhaps than SF, though the Tibetan deities and demons that people the text are wondrous in their own right. The first book of the Pattison series is 'The Skull Mantra.'
